You're the one explaining to engineering why a feature stakeholders called 'priority one' last week is now 'maybe later.' The backlog is yours. So is the answer when someone asks why their thing isn't on it.
Course Overview
SPOC is the second of the two major SCRUMstudy role credentials and the one Product Owner job listings ask for. The course covers how to develop a Project Vision, how to identify and engage stakeholders without becoming their order-taker, how to write and prioritize User Stories, how to set Acceptance Criteria that actually hold, and how to make the trade-offs between scope, quality, time, and value that the role is built around. 180 days of LMS access, 140-question proctored exam.
What You Will Learn
- How to write a Project Vision people can actually rally behind. How to identify stakeholders and figure out which ones genuinely shape priority and which ones think they do. How to write a User Story that won't get bounced back. How to set Acceptance Criteria the team can hold themselves to. How to manage the Prioritized Product Backlog when everyone wants their thing first. How to make trade-offs between scope, quality, time, and value when there's no clean answer.
About the Course
- SPOC certifies the Product Owner role — owning what gets built, in what order, and for what business outcome. It's the credential PO listings ask for and the stepping stone to SSPOC for multi-team products.
How the Course Works
- Online and self-paced through the VMEdu LMS. You get 180 days of access from the day your enrollment activates, the full preparatory course, an e-copy of the body of knowledge, chapter tests, two full-length simulated exams, and the proctored certification exam itself. Mobile and desktop both work. If you're buying for a team or want help applying what you learn after the exam, an optional Trinity advisory engagement is available on request.
Individual Outcomes
- You'll hold the most established Product Owner credential in the industry, qualify for PO contract rates that are materially above non-credentialed work, and open the path to SSPOC if you take on multi-team product responsibility later.
Who this Course is For
- You if the backlog is yours. You if you're a product manager who's been operating without a credentialed framework. You if you're a business analyst owning requirements for a Scrum team. You if you're a functional lead responsible for what your team builds and want the credential that names the discipline.
Organizational Outcomes
- If you have multiple Product Owners and they're prioritizing against different signals, SPOC is the cert that puts them on the same standard before you spend three more quarters discovering the misalignment in delivery.
Why Choose this certification
- SPOC is the most established Product Owner credential in the SCRUMstudy family. It scales into SSPOC for multi-team products and is commonly required on Product Owner job listings.
Why choose Trinity
- Translating stakeholder priorities into team execution while telling some of those stakeholders 'not yet' is the discipline this credential certifies — and it's the discipline behind every operational improvement program Trinity has run. The $20M+ in documented savings across the Specialty Metals Manufacturer and Global Industrial Equipment Manufacturer engagements came from making the right calls about what to fix first when multiple teams wanted different things. Same trade-off. Optional Trinity advisory engagement available after certification to help you stand up Product Owner practices in your own organization.
Accreditation & Recognition
- Trinity is a SCRUMstudy / VMEdu Authorized Training Partner (V.A.T.P.). Trinity provides training and enrollment support using VMEdu's accredited course content and platform; credentials are issued by SCRUMstudy (a brand of VMEdu Inc.) upon meeting their requirements. Trinity does not issue credentials directly.
