You're the person who keeps sprints moving when stakeholders shift priorities, who clears impediments before they slow delivery, and who holds the framework when everyone else wants to skip the ceremonies. SMC is the credential that names that role.

Course Overview

SMC is one of the two most widely recognized Scrum role credentials in the industry and the one most commonly required on Scrum Master job listings. The course prepares you to facilitate every Sprint ceremony, coach the team toward self-organization, manage stakeholder communication without breaking the team's focus, and remove impediments before they compound. 180 days of LMS access, 100-question proctored exam, 95% historical pass rate.

What You Will Learn

How to facilitate every Sprint ceremony so it produces what it's supposed to produce. How to coach a team into self-organization without micromanaging the transition. How to spot impediments early — including the ones the team won't raise because they don't think anyone can fix them. How to manage stakeholders without breaking team focus. How to enforce Definition of Done when no one wants to be the one who says 'not yet.'

About the Course

SMC certifies the Scrum Master role — facilitation, impediment removal, stakeholder management, team coaching. It's the credential most commonly listed as required on Scrum Master job postings and the stepping stone to the scaled (SSMC) and expert (ESMC) tracks.

How the Course Works

Online and self-paced through the VMEdu LMS. You get 180 days of access from the day your enrollment activates, the full preparatory course, an e-copy of the body of knowledge, chapter tests, two full-length simulated exams, and the proctored certification exam itself. Mobile and desktop both work. If you're buying for a team or want help applying what you learn after the exam, an optional Trinity advisory engagement is available on request.

Who this Course is For

You if you're already facilitating Scrum. You if you're a project manager shifting from Waterfall to Agile. You if you're a team lead being asked to take Scrum Master responsibility. You if you're a PMO lead trying to standardize how Scrum runs across multiple teams.

Individual Outcomes

You'll hold the most established Scrum Master credential in the industry, qualify for SM contract rates that are materially above non-credentialed work, and open the path to the scaled (SSMC) and expert (ESMC) tracks.

Organizational Outcomes

If you're stood up to standardize Scrum across multiple teams, SMC is the cert that puts every Scrum Master in the organization on the same facilitation standard. It also shortens the time a new Scrum Master takes to become effective from months to weeks.

Why Choose this certification

SMC is the most established Scrum Master credential in the SCRUMstudy family and is recognized internationally. It's the one hiring managers look for, it's the gateway to SSMC and ESMC, and earning it cleanly is a signal you can run the framework, not just describe it.

Why choose Trinity

The Scrum Master role lives or dies on impediment removal under pressure — and that's the operational discipline behind Trinity. The team I led closed 46 bases in 60 days, 14 days ahead of a presidential directive, while moving over 100,000 tons of cargo across CENTCOM. Same discipline, different mission. Trinity carries SMC because the credential names the discipline, and an optional Trinity advisory engagement is available after you certify if you want help installing Scrum in your own organization — not just holding the certificate.

Accreditation & Recognition

Trinity is a SCRUMstudy / VMEdu Authorized Training Partner (V.A.T.P.). Trinity provides training and enrollment support using VMEdu's accredited course content and platform; credentials are issued by SCRUMstudy (a brand of VMEdu Inc.) upon meeting their requirements. Trinity does not issue credentials directly.

For teams & cohort

This course can be delivered to individuals or as part of a team pathway. If you’re considering LSSBB™ for multiple staff, we can discuss cohort enrollment, role mapping, and simple reporting for your organization.
